Faltu was a really faltoo movie in every aspect! Full credits must be given to Remo for coming up with a nice idea, (and wisely copying the Hollywood counterpart), but I must say that the execution was really poor.

Without any big stars in the movie, Ritesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jackky, Angad Bedi and others definitely did a great job, but the climax was really disappointing in my opinion.

Faltoo is all about a gang of 4 friends – 1 out which is a nerd who always scores > 90% while the rest of them barely manage to pass the exams scoring 37-41%.

Those three friends including Jackky, struggle a lot to get admission into a college, while the fourth one gets admitted to the most prestigious St. Peters college after scoring 94%, and with his father’s influence.

The gang decides to create a fake website for the college, and morph the admission letter of St Peter’s college given to their best buddy, and fool their parents with the help of Arshad Warsi, who is named ‘Google’ (I wonder if the real Google Inc. doesn’t really mind that!).

But, things get worse for Jackky and Co as their parents show interest in visiting their college, and they decide to renovate an old dispute college property into Fakirchand And Lakirchand Technological University, in short FALTU.

Ritesh who works as teacher in a small school run by Boman Irani (who barely has any role) is picked as the fake principal of the college, and then there’s nothing much to the story.

Faltu students from various parts of the country drop into the college, who can’t manage to get admission into any other college, and all the Faltus decide to run their college. Initially, they all party and booze, but Jackky takes the initiative of harnessing their talents, and running online learning university on subjects of their choice such as Fashion Designing, Music, Arts, Cookery, Hair-Cut and what not!

But, there comes a twist as the father of their fourth buddy finds out that his lad is busy boozing and learning acting in Faltu rather than attending St Peters classes, and he files a case of fraud against them.

At this point, rather than trying to do something realistic like getting the college officially registered, and doing anything sensible all the Faltus decide to showcase their talent in the biggest cultural fest in St Peters college where Mithun Chakravarti, in-charge of educational community recognizes the talent of Faltus after a heart touching performance showing how all the faltus suffer in life.

And, in the most unrealistic way, he declares that Faltu would become a deemed university (heck yeah without any accreditation, affiliation or registration – bizarre isn’t it?), and finally all the Faltus manage to fulfill their dreams in life.

I thought if Remo would have thought it out little more realistically, then the movie would have been lot more worthy, and the youth of nation would have received a better advice, which they could follow in reality to do something in life.
